The 77th Session of The United Nations General Assembly Science Summit event ran last week in New York. At the event, Wellola was proud to be announced as one of Ireland's ‘First 25 Irish Digital Health Solutions’ by the CEO of Enterprise Ireland, Leo Clancy & the Health Service Executive's Director of Digital Transformation and Open Innovation, Martin Curley.

At the summit, a digital innovation strategy know as Shift Left, Stay Left - 10X: A paradigm, policy, platform and prescription for wellness and better health was discussed. But what is Shift Left, Stay Left? Shift Left, Stay Left is about helping patients to self-manage their conditions, delivering care closer to home, supporting citizens to stay well and out of hospital wards and clinics where possible.
In Ireland, a move toward this model is very much underway, driven partly by the Irish Digital Health Leadership Steering Group (IDHLSG), a community of over 65 Irish and international leaders (clinicians, patients, CEOs, Academics, policy makers) who have joined together to help lead the transformation of Ireland’s Health system through digital. The charter of the steering group is to agree, align and accelerate Ireland’s digital health strategy and action plan.
While most healthcare systems focus on making sick people better, this action plan advocates for a health system whose focus is on keeping well people well; where care is required, it supports a specialised, integrated care model, moving from acute to community and home settings with ease, ideally avoiding patient hospital trips where possible. This model is underpinned by innovative digital health technology solutions. This strategy is very much aligned with our vision as a company at Wellola.
Congratulations to our fellow innovative First 25! We are privileged to be ranked among the best in Irish Digital Health.
